Within the framework of supervising the environmental activities and ecological monitoring of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium facilities, our company evaluated application of space imagery data for assessing the pipeline condition and its environmental influence. As a result of the project: · Various options of deciphering different type space imagery for evaluating the state of the pipeline and its environmental influence were demonstrated; · Recommendations on the use of various sensor types, spectral channel combinations, their preliminary processing for various diagnostics types were developped; · Evaluation of the efficiency of using space surveys for purposes of field observation planning and optimization was made; · Suggestions on the organization of the production and ecologic monitoring system with the use of space imagery were developped. |

Traffic network is a real estate facility, which principal function is people and cargo flow transportation. Thus, to ensure its steady functioning, expressed in maintaining its functional state as well as necessary periodic modernization, considerable financial resources are required; Subsequently, there is a need for timely current traffic network infrastructure information updates as well as possibility of online facility monitoring, which, in its turn, determined next steps for this enhancing the efficiency of the process of regulating traffic flow and cargo transportation between population centers; Calculation of the optimal traffic (especially cargo traffic) routes; Monitoring the development of highway and railway transportation facilities infrastructure based on remote sensing data. An important peculiarity of the established unified vector coverage and structurized attributive information of the SFD traffic network is possibility for solving a number of tasks: · Dynamic editing of traffic network routs (new facility creation, existing facility deliting); · Possibility of introducing adjustments to utilities condition (alteration of facility attributes); · Optimal Transpor route calculation.

Strategic environmental assessment of Lebedinskiy gornoobagatitelniy kombinat territory using IKONOS space imagery

Northern Geographical Company, LLC in cooperation with Geoecology Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences performed a series of activities aimed at environmental assessment of Lebedinskiy (Mining Plant) territory. In the course of the project a series of activities aimed at preparing geospatial basis for the Lebedinskiy (Mining Plant) territory, including analysis and selection of optimal remote sensing basic material, meeting the project targets, orthotransformation, deciphering, creation of geoinformational layers and attributive database of Lebedinskiy (Mining Plant) facilities and the surrounding area. Using various methodologies and on the basis of a high resolution orthotransformed space image, with application of field measurement data as well as mapping results there was established a set of GIS-layers of the ecologic condition of Lebedinskiy (Mining Plant) facilities and the surrounding area environment. The outcome of the activities is represented in the form of three aggregate maps: · The map of unfavorable ecologic processes development, including hazardous geologic processes and technological environmental impact source areas; · Vegetation condition map; · Soil and water facilities condition map. |

Reliable and uninterruptable power supply of vast areas is the principal task of any electricity company. And in the areas where certain climatic conditions and a certain cold season can drastically raise consumer demand for electric power this task is somehow made more difficult due to some additional requirements to maintaining the parameters of produced electricity in accordance with GOST. In 2008, taking into account the task specifics as well as making use of the advantages offered by the geoinformation system, Northern Geographical Company, LLC undertook implementation of a project aimed at establishing a geographic information system of CJSC Arkhenergo power networks. Creation of a digital topographic map of 1: 5 000 in scale for the territory of Iran |
In 2003, by order of the Ministry of Internal affairs of Iran we executed a project aimed at cerating digital GIS-layers, corresponding by accuracy and detalization to the scale of 1:5000, for a specific district, which area constituted 280 square kilometers. During the project initial phase we built a high-precision digital elevation model based on GPS measurements. Then, using a program module, we processed imagery of high spatial resolution and made radiometric adjustment, gystogrammic correction, orthotransformation and tiling. The following activities were performed: · Radiometric adjustment, · Gystogrammic correction, · orthotransformation, · Tiling, After mapping the district, vector layers were finalized according to applicable conventional signs for maps of 1: 5000 in scale. |
